Watershed Interactive Mural
OneTree Alaska worked with The Watershed School to create an 8ft X 40ft interactive mural titled, “Exploring our Environment.” The mural was created by local artists and educators Klara Maisch, Zachary Meyers, Laura Cartier and approximately 45 Watershed students ranging from grades 1-8.
Each participating student played an integral role in the completion of the canvas by suggesting content ideas, creating original art pieces, and adding finishing details. Portions of the mural are linked to individual student research projects through the augmented reality mobile app Aurasma. Generous financial support for this project was provided by Delta Kappa Gamma Theta, Watershed PTSA, Fairbanks Arts Association (Artist-In-The-School Program), BAKLAP, and Boreal House. |
